What is an acid?

For our purposes, acids are like Santa, they give and give and give, never taking anything. Except instead of presents, acids give their protons (H+) to other molecules (children). Strong acids like hydrochloric acid (HCl) are generous, and give away all of their protons, even if there are no molecules (kids) to take them! Weak acids are cheap - they only give away some of their protons (H+) and keep some for themselves.

What is a base?

Bases are all those pesky little kids out there asking for presents (protons - H+). Now as we all know, some kids are greedier than others. Weak bases are those normal, unspoiled kids who will take a present (H+) if Santa gives it to them. Strong bases like sodium hydroxide (NaOH) are those pesky little spoiled brat kids who take every single present (H+) they can, and are even willing to steal from Santa (weak acid) if he's being cheap!

*I am describing here the Bronsted-Lowry acid base theory. There are other acid-base theories, the most common of which being Lewis Acids and Lewis Bases.

Akak ni org kedah, byk cerita ttg pengalamn hidup, p jalan2, dah sampai indonesia, beijing,ho chi minh.. wah untungnya...kat sarawak pun ad ea, sy ni duk kat srwak dah 5thn...lama dah, pun ska makan ayam penyet..hehe..akak pernah jg p serikin, satok jalan2 dan akak ni jg ad bt tempahan baju jahit manik, blh lah nt nak tempah jahit manik kat bju kawen =) cantik design jahitan bju, rs nak blajar jg...in shaa Allah.....byk jg sy bc2 kat blog akak, ad homestay kat cameron highlands...saper yg nak p bercuti blh lah duk kat homestay akak ni, nt contact dl ea..booking, tkt kan penuh pl (^_^)/ then, lagi akak ni jg jual cheese powder, bl tgk je teringat cheezy wedges kfc..hurm, saper yg xsuka..semua org minat...hehhe...sy pun sm lah..cheese tu blh letak dlm telur, hotdog, makaroni...bestnya...recipe2 pun ada, makaroni cheese + durien crepe etc..terliur rsnya nk makan bila tgk2 pics =)

Satu cerita yg menyentuh hati: Seorang ayah sedang menangis, anaknya bertanya pd ayahnya, knp ayah menangis..ayahnya bgthu, ayah menangis kerana slma ini ayah mencari bahagia utk keluarga/anak2, sgala keperluan dunia boleh ayah bagi...apa2 yg hendak boleh ayah bagi/usahakan...rupa2nya bahagia itu ada dlm sujud, ayah terasa yg Allah sgt dekat skali (mencari bahagia, ikim.fm)

NanoMalaysia 2012

Tahu ttg NANOTECH??? >>>> Satu pengalaman yg sgt2 menarik pergi kem olimpiad NanoMalaysia, anjuran MOSTI...setiap uni ad hantar wakil...semua yg buat research pasal nanotechnology + berkaitan dgn nano2, kitaorg berpeluang berkongsi pandangan, pendapat ttg research masing2, + pgtahuan/ilmu manfaat n jg berkongsi ttg isu nanotech skg...melawat UTP, UKM, berkenalan ramai2 =) terlalu byk nak diceritakan...hurm, just enjoy da pics okeh...
